Cachaa

Cachaça Ranked

Cachaça is a distilled spirit made from fermented sugarcane juice. It is the most popular spirit among distilled alcoholic beverages in Brazil. Outside Brazil, cachaça is used almost exclusively as an ingredient in tropical drinks. The United States Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau has amended the standard of identity for distilled spirits to include ‘‘Cachaça’’ as a type of rum and a distinctive product of Brazil. These standards also include its production and quality requirements to use this product name. Cachaça differs from most other rums in the fermentation and distillation of fresh sugarcane juice, instead of sugarcane by-products like molasses.
